The sustainable development strategy
At LB MINERALS, s.r.o., we focus on the environmental aspects associated with the mining and processing of mineral raw materials. Part of our approach involves monitoring selected environmental indicators, evaluating the impacts of our activities, and providing information on the environmental profile of our products.
We have conducted Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) for selected products, which serve to identify and evaluate environmental impacts at individual stages of the product life cycle. The outputs of these analyses are included in Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). These declarations are verified by an independent third party and provide standardized information in accordance with the relevant methodologies and standards.
We provide this information to our business partners as a basis for their own evaluation of product environmental parameters.
Since 2020, we have been tracking greenhouse gas emissions at the organizational level. We report emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 in accordance with the GHG Protocol methodology. The records include direct emissions, emissions from purchased energy, and selected indirect emissions within the supply chain. This process allows us to maintain an overview of emission sources and identify areas we can target as part of their management.
Since 2013, we have been involved in self-assessment on the international EcoVadis platform, which evaluates companies in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable supply chain management.
In the global sustainability assessment for 2025, we were awarded a Bronze Medal, placing us among the top 35% of companies evaluated for their sustainability activities. With a score of 68 points out of 100 and a resulting 82nd percentile, we rank among the top 18% of highest-rated companies worldwide across all industries.
