Minimising the environmental impact of our activities is a long-term priority for us. That is why we work with respect for nature, for the landscape and for the people in the regions where we operate.
We look at the environmental impacts of our products systematically and on the basis of data. Life cycle assessment (LCA) studies evaluate the environmental impacts of our products from the extraction of raw materials to the point they leave the production plant (cradle-to-gate). Their results are summarised in Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), independently verified documents that provide clear and comparable information.

Since 2020 we have been monitoring our carbon footprint across the entire operation of the company. We measure direct and indirect emissions in accordance with the internationally recognised GHG Protocol methodology. Regular emissions monitoring allows us to make data-based decisions and to work on reducing them over the long term.
We base our business on the principles of accountability and transparency. Since 2013, we have been using the international EcoVadis platform to assess our practices.
EcoVadis is the world’s largest global assessment system for corporate sustainability and social responsibility. It provides an overarching assessment of a company’s approach to several key areas: the environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
It is the most widely used and one of the most prestigious non-financial ratings in the world.
